Técnicamente, Syrup es un grupo de hip-hop con inclinaciones inconfundibles hacia el soul y el jazz. El grupo está formado por un MC (Turt), un pianista / cantante (C.Tappin) y un beatmaker (Twit One). Su música tiene sus raíces en la tradición de colectivos como Native Tongues y Soulquarians, y han ideado un término bastante apropiado para describir su sonido, que es "cool bap".
